Talsi Vineyard Building Renovation Funding

Effective South African leaders and pastors Kuzaan and Clarien Van den Berg are poised to make an impact on the lives of youth and citizens of the city of Talsi, Latvia. They are currently planting a Vineyard church in the city and have assembled an international team. The plant has quickly grown to 40 people who, for the past year, have attend weekly gatherings in a small room in a soviet era bread factory donated by a local businessman. The entire building is available for development and plans are in place to host a food pantry, youth center, large sanctuary and cafe but repairs and renovations are needed.

Would you consider a donation to meet their immediate needs of $9807? The first priority is raising $3600 to install heating for the large sanctuary before winter arrives as they have been meeting in a small room. They also need $2707 to cut and install a front door with handicap accessibility as they currently can only enter through a loading dock. Lastly, $3500 is needed to upgrade the electrical box and wiring which is very out of date.

The team is skilled in the building trades and will do much of the work themselves which will dramatically lower costs. Work needs to be completed before winter so the funds need to be raised in the next month.

Tax deductible donations can be made through the Strait Foundation Donate page. Choose Donate Now from the site menu. On the donate page, under Donation information, check “I would like this donation to go to a specific fund”. Then choose “Latvia Building

Thank you!

Your donation will allow the Talsi Vineyard to implement their vision of reaching young people with the gospel and seeing the transforming power & love of Jesus restore families and affect their city.

Roger H. Strait Foundation – 2021 HIGHLIGHTS

Lives preserved, lives changed, hope restored

This past year saw the Strait Foundation working and cooperating with local government and charitable organizations in Africa, The Middle East, South America and Southeast Asia in the arenas of health outreach and education. The Foundation is also actively involved in providing shelter and safety to displaced people in several areas of conflict worldwide and is assisting with the procurement of jobs, education and healthcare.

Emergency medicine training programs took place in Tanzania and Liberia. In Tanzania, the Strait Foundation is now partnering with local government hospitals to provide formal training and certification for first responders and hospital staff which has resulted in a dramatic increase in healing and lives saved.

In Tanzania, a college dean’s residence was brought up to modern world standards and work has begun on the first dormitory for the campus. Development plans are ongoing for the completion of the entire campus. The Foundation is also involved in the process of recruiting full time faculty to the facility.

In the Middle East, the Strait Foundation continues to partner with on the ground organizations and individuals working toward regional reconciliation and providing encouragement for local populations facing impending conflict. The Foundation works with displaced persons from a legal and governmental point of view to access safety in a variety of challenging environments.

In 2021, the Strait Foundation also was involved in construction projects which provided housing, work and training for national and international personnel; including sending US based craftsmen to overseas locations to assist in specific projects.

The Foundation continued its partnership with DeoDance International. DeoDance and the Strait Foundation joined this year to help company members who became displaced by local conflict.
